IATIS will hold four pre-conference workshops at the V IATIS Conference on Monday, July 6th:

WORKSHOP 1, “Empirical Translation Process Research with Translog-II”, Michael Carl (Copenhagen Business School)
Maximum number of participants: 30
Devices and materials to be brought by participants: Participants are expected to bring their own laptops for the second session. They will need to install R and Cygwin (on windows).


WORKSHOP 2, “Humor Translation (English-Portuguese)”, Beatriz Viégas-Faria (Universidade Federal de Pelotas)
Maximum number of participants: 30
Devices and materials to be brought by participants: Either their own notebooks (laptops, tablets etc) or their notepads (pen and paper).


WORKSHOP 3, “Experimental Methodology Applied to Translation Process Research”, Erica dos Santos Rodrigues, Paula Santos Diniz, Renê Forster (PUC-Rio)
Maximum number of participants: 30
Devices and materials to be brought by participants: It is recommended that participants bring their personal computers to the workshop in order to plan the experiments proposed during the hands-on activity.


WORKSHOP 4, “‘If you fake it, you can make it’: Presenting your research orally in English”, Jenny Williams, Minako O'Hagan (Dublin City University)
Maximum number of participants: 30
Devices and materials to be brought by participants: Participants should come prepared to give a 5-minute talk on their current research project.


PLEASE NOTE: WORKSHOP CONVENORS REQUIRE ATTENDEES TO BRING THEIR OWN PERSONAL NOTEBOOKS.

Coffee Break: 10:30 - 11:00
Session II: 11:00 - 12.30

Session I: 14:30 - 16:00
Coffee Break: 16:00 - 16:30
Session II: 16:30 - 17:30


JULY 1st is the deadline for the completion of the online-registration for the workshop you want to attend.


CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE WILL BE ISSUED TO THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLIED WITH COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE.
