MORNING: Transition to Java Using Alice 3Presenter(s): Donald SlaterDescription: Participants will see how to use Alice 3 to build virtual worlds and how to transfer these programs into a Java IDE.
MORNING: Hands-on with BootstrapPresenter(s): Emmanuel SchanzerDescription: Boostrap is used by teachers around the country to teach programming and real algebra through videogame programming. Participants in this workshop will experience the curriculum in a hands-on format, taking on the role of their own students in a classroom setting and working through activities.
MORNING: ---FULL---: Jump Right In: Getting Started with Google Apps ScriptPresenter(s): Jan KleinertDescription: This workshop will introduce the capabilities of Google Apps Script, followed by a hands-on workshop where teachers will build scripts ranging from simple custom spreadsheet functions up through complex web applications with rich user interfaces.---This workshop is FULL---
MORNING: ---FULL---: Exploring Computer Science--Teaching with InquiryPresenter(s): Gail Chapman and Joanna GoodeDescription: Participants will engage in a selection of inquiry-based activities from the Exploring Computer Science curriculum. Discussions will also include possible extensions for CS Principles courses. ---This workshop is FULL---
AFTERNOON: Big Data UnitPresenter(s): Tammy PirmannDescription: This session will start with an overview of the Big Data Unit and how it can fit into a high school course. Participants will receive all materials used in the unit including two large data sets for use with students.
AFTERNOON: Koding with Kodu: CS in the 3-8 Classroom Presenter(s): Pat Yongpradit and Peggy FisherDescription: In this workshop, participants will explore the Kodu environment, create simple interactive games and simulations, and discover ready-to-use curriculum resources including video tutorials, lesson plans, and student activities. Kodu is a free Microsoft teaching tool.

AFTERNOON: ---FULL---SNAP! and the "Beauty and Joy of Computing"Presenter(s): Daniel GarciaDescription: The "Beauty and Joy of Computing" curriculum was used by two of the five initial pilot sites for the coming AP CS: Principles course. All course materials and supporting software are available FREE online. The hands-on workshop will introduce both the language and the curriculum.---This workshop is FULL---
